Alexandria, VA - Oak Grove Technologies has been awarded a prize in the 2010 DiabetesMine™ Design Challenge. Oak Grove’s entry, “In Sue Lin’s World,” won in the Most Creative Idea category.
The 2010 DiabetesMine™ Design Challenge is a competition that encourages people to design “creative new tools for improving life with diabetes.” Oak Grove developed the concept of “In Sue Lin’s World” to provide a comfortable learning environment for a child who has been diagnosed with diabetes. By spending time with Sue Lin, children learn more about managing their own blood glucose levels, how different foods affect their blood sugar, and when to take insulin. We envision that this learning game could be compatible with mobile devices or included with glucose monitoring devices.
We entered this competition as part of our continuing work in the healthcare arena. “In Sue Lin’s World” combines Oak Grove’s talent in multimedia design with its commitment to providing fresh, innovative approaches to training healthcare professionals and patients. Oak Grove’s primary clients in healthcare include the Department of Veterans Affairs and Kardia, a subsidiary of the Mayo Clinic.
In Sue Lin's World is featured on the DiabetesMine and Oak Grove Tech YouTube channels.
